Fundraising Event Goes Wild!

Many of our volunteers hold fund-raising events in order to get the funds together for their placement. These may involve discos, sponsored bike rides or even cleaning a double-decker bush with a toothbrush! However, by far the most well-attended and successful fundraising event was recently organised by 18 year-old Rachel Pfeiffer.

Game monitoring at Hanchi

Charlotte reports from Hanchi on the game movements on the reserve. A huge variety of animals have been sighted including 14 giraffe, warthog and a myriad of different bird species. Charlotte describes some fascinating giraffe behaviour and was hugely excited to see her first nyala!

It was an hour or so after sunrise on Friday March 28th and without a cloud in the sky it was already beginning to get hot. As we drove towards the north of the reserve, no one could have predicted what was to happen shortly.....

Huge Crocodile caught on camera!

Last week at Tuli, the volunteers got to witness an amazing sight - a huge 3m long crocodile catching and swallowing a young impala. The realities of life and death in the African bush played out before their eyes! The Limpopo river (where the croc lives) flows past the volunteer camp, so they had front row seats to watch the action!
